Course Overview

An introductory discussion of a physiotherapist’s perspective on TMD and guided practical of assessment and management techniques. This course will explore and discuss the following topics:A)TMJ anatomy and functional anatomyB)TMD diagnosis and classificationC)Subjective and Objective ExaminationD)Treatment and ManagementAlso included are:A)Guided hands-on session to practice physiotherapy TMD assessment and management techniquesB)Case studies Patrick is a physiotherapist who works with orofacial pain and vestibular patients. This includes headaches/migraine variants, TMD variants, BPPV, vestibular rehabilitation, and more. He works in private practice at the Headache, Neck and Jaw clinic and is pursuing a research Masters in novel TMD management.After attaining a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland, Patrick undertook additional training through the Watson Headache Approach and Vestibular Education Australia to further his clinical skills.Patrick immensely enjoys the process of patient education and believes the most powerful tool in chronic pain management is having a conversation.
